construct/deconstruct

In her work ‘construct/deconstruct’ Nani purchases, assembles, then disassembles and returns an Ikea display
cabinet. Whilst undertaking this hour-long task she contemplates: the instruction manual and specific tools
prescribed in the construction of the display cabinet; the reproduction of knowledge within an institutionalised
space as repeated and constrictive; the mess produced both in the construction and deconstruction of cultural
institutions, and the use of an object for her own academic benefit without having to pay for it or return it in the
condition she received it in.
